WASN'T it just always destined to end like this?

That a season as crazy and tightly-packed even by Championship standards should, to pinch that much-quoted phrase, go right to the wire.

No fewer than five clubs will kick off at 2pm on Sunday with a mathematical chance of filling the two play-off places still up for grabs.

If Wolves beat Plymouth,as they must, they only need worry about two - Crystal Palace and Watford.

Time then to hope for favours from their two opponents - Burnley and Blackpool.
